Norm-referenced tests (NRT), such as the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills (ITBS), measure instructional standards commonly taught throughout the entire United States of America. Writing Assessment (Grade 5)

Georgia’s performance-based writing assessments are administered to students in grades three, five, eight, and eleven. Student writing samples are evaluated on an analytic scoring system in all grades to provide diagnostic feedback to teachers, students, and parents about individual performance. The writing assessments provide information to students about their writing performance and areas of strength and challenge. For more information, go to: Writing Test
CRCT (Grades 1-5)

The CRCT is designed to measure how well students acquire the skills and knowledge described in the Georgia Performance Standards (GPS). For more information, go to: CRCT
CRCT Practice: CRCT Online Student user name and password information can be obtained from your child's teacher.
The Georgia Department of Education has developed CRCT study guides for each grade level. Teachers will be using this information to help prepare students in test taking strategies. You can do the same thing at home by reviewing the appropriate grade-level guide(s) for your child(ren).
