Principal's Corner

A Note from the Principal

Dear Students and Parents:

I truly enjoy my job as an educator.  I have worked in the Douglas County School System for fifteen years as a teacher, eight years as Assistant Principal here at CHES and have just completed my sixth year as Principal.  I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to serve in a school with great students, a hard-working staff, and very active parent volunteers.

Learning is a serious business.  Teachers have a huge responsibility in preparing learning experiences that allow students to build on prior knowledge while challenging them for future learning.  Students are expected to come to school each day prepared and ready to do their job - learn.  We want each student to succeed; therefore every staff member sets the same high expectations for academics and student conduct.  We also understand that students are more successful when there is a partnership between teachers and parents.  We encourage parents to keep up-to-date on student learning by reading over homework sheets and weekly newsletters, reviewing graded papers, and attending parents conferences.  You can also stay informed through the school website and subscribing to our Notify Me service.

I look forward to the 2017-2018 school year.  This year's theme "Oh, the Places We Will Go: Learning is an Adventure" sets the tone for what we hope to be an exciting year and foundation for developing our students to be life-long learners.  I encourage and welcome you to become part of your child's educational experience.
